Revolution MMA Benton Featured Review: Evan W

Kids Martial Arts Bryant

It’s time for your March Featured Revolutionaries! This month is Evan W.  We are so proud of Evan and all of his progress. He always works so hard and hardly misses class. He pays attention and does his best too. We know he’s doing well in school, b/c he’s also brought us a few report cards! In fact, he is an Honor Roll student with As and Bs! That’s awesome!

A little about Evan:

Evan is 10 and in the 4th grade. His favorite subject in school is science b/c he likes to invent things. He’s not sure what he wants to be when eh grows up but that’s ok, he’s got plenty of time. His favorite food is pizza and his favorite color is black. (ours too). He’s a pet lover (just like us) and he’s even been kind enough to bring his pet Guinea Pig buy for a visit or two.  When he’s not training in class, he likes to play outside, build things with legos and play video games too.

We asked Evan why he started Martial Arts. He said he had tried Karate before and just wanted to train again. This time he tried Revolution MMA Benton b/c he wanted to learn some grappling and how to fight on the ground. He likes the exercises we do in class to help him stay in shape: in particular he said, the burpies and tumbling drills. (We always incorporate these drills into the classes to get the kids in shape and improve their motor skills for all areas of life). Evan said he feels he’s getting in better shape as a result of his training and he’s more flexible and stronger too.

The main benefit he noticed from his training was confidence. Evan stated that at school he sometimes hears kids say words they shouldn’t. Perhaps not words that might be considered “bad words” but just not good things. He said he tells them they should not say those things and has the confidence to tell them when things bother him.  We are really proud of Evan for this. It takes a lot to be able to stand up for yourself. Especially to your friends. We all have to do it a times, and it takes a good balance to be able to do it in a manner that you can ” maintain  your friendships yet stand up for what you believe in. But it sounds like Evan is doing the right thing and that’s awesome.

Evan said his overall goal for his Martial Arts is to get a black belt!

We’re very proud of you Evan. Keep up the good work!
